DINING TABLE
ART at the
Dining Table Design
Functionality with a touch of irreverence
For this space, I designed a tiled dining table that integrates seamlessly with the interior design, bringing art and personality into the environment. My intention was to transform the tabletop into a canvas, where a fluid and organic composition could stand out without competing with the surrounding elements.
The use of tiles in this project is not purely aesthetic, but also functional. They offer strength and durability, while the solid, sculptural base complements the design — turning the table into a statement piece that brings together art, design, and architecture.
I created this table as one paints an ocean. Shades of blue flow across the surface in varying tones — at times deep and intense like the sea, at others soft and light like the evening sky. The lines weave between the tiles, forming an abstract, fluid landscape, almost in motion.
I wanted this piece to breathe with the space — to converse with the light coming through the windows, the warmth of the wooden floors, and the tactile comfort of the surrounding materials. The blue of the table reflects the serenity of the setting, while also carrying the strength of a presence that stands out without losing its lightness.
The tiles, with their cool and luminous texture, evoke memories of craftsmanship — of the handmade, of time etched into the surface.
More than a piece of furniture, it becomes a portal to sensations — an invitation to the meeting of art, design, and life.
